Panantukan & Silat Techniques Videos

The  techniques I’m learning in  Panantukan & Silat are very easy to learn.  You can even train without a training partner using a homemade martial arts dummy. I always make sure to stay focused on basics like:

  1. Using good footwork that feel natural and second nature.   Using the female triangle when stepping off line and into your opponent.
  2. Being consistent of keeping my guard up even when the drill is over.   I set up a safe zone three feet outside of the dummy perimeter or training partner.  This way I keep my hands up when ever I get inside of the 3 feet circle.
  3. Make sure everything flows – keep what flows throw out what does not.
  4. Use entry points and start a drill and then improvise using everything I can think of to finish a drill.

The video below will show a basic set of drills that are improvised just after the entry point.

T. Kent Nelson – Panantukan & Silat seminar DVD Vol.1

This exciting seminar covers blocking, striking, takedowns, off balancing, and joint locks found within the little known aspects of the Filipino and Indonesian martial arts. These arts are known as Panantukan & Silat. The techniques are smooth, flowi…

I have already included these drills into my weekly training.
